In honor of the clocks turning back and the sun setting at 4:39 tonight, I designed a lil badge for one of my favorite @noahkahanmusic songs.

I would put the song Northern Attitude over this post, but I can’t find it on IG? Maybe cause Noah said we’re not allowed to listen to the original now that a new version with @hozier is coming out. 😍

Started this little illustration in @adobe Firefly, then fine-tuned it myself in Photoshop. I gave the pup one floppy ear just like Callie. 🥹 It was definitely a cool to experiment with some new tech in my workflow.

There's some new folks around here, so I figured it was time for me to reintroduce myself - ⁠

My name is Mackenzie, and I'm the designer behind Eunoia Design Co. 👋🏼

At the moment, Eunoia is a one woman operation... but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love having hands on involvement in every aspect of my business. ⁠

A little bit about me:

🧍‍♀️I’m 6’ tall - for some reason this shocks everyone who hasn’t met me in person and it cracks me up
⁠
🐾 My pup, Callie, has learned to recognize when my meetings are ending. She tends to bark for attention right as I go to sign off (she’s saying bye too)

🚐 I’m currently working on buying a van to continue my travels as a digital nomad @eunoiaadventure.co

🛞 I’ve completed three solo cross country road trips (well, CT to AZ, so not quite coast to coast) with my pup. We car camped the entire way!

💻 I was gifted a photoshop textbook as a teenager (no joke) and self taught myself the program with the DVD guide it included at 13

🦉 I’m an absolute night owl and do not take meetings before 10am. It’s for the benefit of everyone involved.

So, now that we’re buds, don’t hesitate to shoot me a message and say hi, ask a question, or send me a funny video you saw. Okay? Okay. Sweet. 🤘🏼

Believe it or not, I actually originally went to college for fine art! That's right, I was studying drawing and painting. I was pretty dang good at it too - I was accepted to the Art Institute of Boston, Pratt Institute, and Lyme Academy of Arts in CT (which only accepts 25 students per year). ⁠
⁠
Ultimately, I left fine art to pursue graphic design. Any time have the opportunity to go back to my roots I am soooo happy to delve back into my love of drawing - even if the medium has transitioned from charcoal and paper to an apple pencil and tablet. ⁠
⁠
I miss fine art regularly, but I know it informs everything that I do in my career. It's the foundation of my creativity, my knowledge of color, my understanding of spatial relationships, and my appreciation for balance and form. ⁠
⁠
Art is a part of everything we do, and it makes me a better designer every day. Maybe it's time I pick up a sketchbook again... ⁠
